Rome

As one of the major tourist capitals in the world, Rome - and the surrounding region of Latium - is also a top meetings destination. Business tourism comprises more than 20% of tourist numbers in Italy - and Rome is an ideal arrival hub in Europe (Leonardo Da Vinci Airport), with an integrated hospitality industry. But above all, it is a unique meetings destination. In Rome, there are more than 220 museums and 15 UNESCO sites. And many historical settings: Ancient Rome with the Coliseum; the Fori; Saint Peter and the Sistine Chapel; baroque churches with paintings by Caravaggio and Raffaello. But it's also a modern city - blue, clear skies and a peaceful way of living is the perfect Rome backdrop.

Knowledge Hub Overview

Rome and its surrounding region are centrally located in the Mediterranean area. Here the luxury of Arabian market meets Northern Europe Technology. It has always been a tourist destination and the cultural and scientific industry is its strength. It is the Italian capital and has all the best characteristics of 'Made in Italy': fashion; excellence in food; extraordinary designs. Its congress activity began centuries ago.

Significant Convention Centres

Our most relevant venues are: Roma Convention Center La Nuvola (The Cloud); Fiera di Roma (Rome’s Trade Fair); Auditorium Parco della Musica and Cinecittà Studios. La Nuvola by Fuksas is an architectural masterpiece - just imagine your event in a cloud dangling in the air. Rome’s Trade Fair has modular structures for more than 6,000 people - we use to say that is the only one with “Roma Plus”. Auditorium Parco della Musica, by Renzo Piano, is managed by a Foundation, with a cultural emphasis. Cinecittà, a historical world movie factory, offers the possibility of staging events inside sets.

Protocol

No passport needed travelling to Italy from one border-free Shengen EU country, although it's still highly recommended to take a passport or ID card. A passport is a must for UK and other parts of Europe.

Each day the hub connects with 200 destinations with an effectiveness and security that are by far unrivalled in the world.
