Oman is lucky in that the local association market is very strong, especially in the fields of healthcare; heritage, culture and tourism; and infrastructure and logistics. The market's prominence is also helped by the fact Oman is the food hub of the Arabian Gulf and its strength in forming connections i.e. ICT and air travel.

Significant Convention Centres

Located in its own precinct, the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre is a world-class facility located 10 minutes from Muscat International Airport. The centre offers two ballrooms, a 3,200 seat theatre and 22 meeting rooms in addition to the Exhibition Centre. The Junior Ballroom can accommodate 540 guests for a banquet or 1,000 guests theatre style while the Grand Ballroom can seat 1,200 people for a dinner or up to seven breakout areas for a convention. These new areas complement the existing five exhibition halls that feature 22,396sqm of column-free exhibition space and 10 hospitality suites.

For VISA entry information visit www.evisa.rop.gov.om where you can select your required visa, apply and pay online. UK passport holders can apply for a 10 day visa at a cost of OMR5 or a 30 day visa for OMR20.

Access

The new Muscat International Airport is located 10 minutes away from the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre and is 40km from the old city of Muscat. The airport is connected to 95 cities worldwide, operating non-stop services on Oman Air from London, Manchester, Paris, Munich, Milan and many destinations in the GCC and Indian subcontinents. Major regional carriers including Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways and many other European and Asian carriers also operate services.

Linked to the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre is the JW Marriot Hotel (opening Mar 2020) while the new Crowne Plaza Hotel is adjacent.
